We've made it to the final week of the course (and the end of high school for some of you)! Hang in there, remain focused on your Final Exams, and the upcoming summer vacation (and graduation) will be all the more enjoyable! I will no longer accept late work or corrections or re-takes. I need this week to assess the work that has been done before grades are due to the office at the end of the week.
Earth Science students: we will finish up our space unit with evidence for the Big Bang, and then have some time to review for the final exam. Note that most of the final review work will need to be done by you outside of class time. I have been giving you documents with questions to help guide you in this. Make use of ACE periods and Study halls. Please take this seriously since it will have a significant impact on your grade for the course.
Physics students: we'll wrap things up, and then you will hand in (or present) your Big Picture assignment which is due on Tuesday.
A few things to remember during the exam days (Thursday and Friday):
1. Students only need to be in school when they have an exam scheduled. If you wish to be in the building when you're not taking an exam, you may use the cafeteria or the library for quiet study time. Check the "classwork & assignments" page for the time of your science exam. If circumstances require you to be absent during the assigned exam time, you must arrange a make-up exam time by Friday. If I don't hear from you, you will get a zero for the Final.
2. You will need to return your text book in order to take the Final Exam. If you have lost your text, you will either need to find it (the same one - with the same number - that was originally assigned to you) or bring a check for $110 (Earth Science) or $85 (Physics) payable to BUHS.
3. Be sure to take some time to review your text and notes from the entire semester. The final exam covers everything.
4. Most importantly, be sure to take care of yourselves the next few days. Get plenty of rest so that your bodies and minds will be in their best form during the exam.
See me if you have questions or concerns about any of this.
Best wishes to all of you for a fun and safe summer, and my special good wishes to those of you who are finishing high school and are about to embark on the next phase of your lives. I wish you well on your next adventure!
Meanwhile, I'll see you in class a few more times,
